Fireworks, Parade & More at Hyatt Regency Hill Country

San Antonio, Texas (June 21, 2021) – The summer heat has arrived in Texas and locals are looking for cool ways to celebrate the 4th of July.

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa, the premier Texas Hill Country resort located on 300 acres in San Antonio, is offering an Independence Day travel experience for guests. Festivities will include an extravagant fireworks display, a festive parade, historical reenactments from the Sons of the American Revolution, and a holiday golf tournament at Hill Country Golf Club

“With the summer travel season in full swing, we are thrilled to offer a fun and memorable getaway for the July 4th holiday,” said Steven Smith, General Manager at Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. “In addition to our exciting holiday lineup, guests can beat the summer heat at our five-acre water park or enjoy several recreational activities that will be available throughout the weekend.”

The holiday traditions kick off on Saturday, July 3rd, with a presentation from the Texas Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. This historical, educational and patriotic group recounts stories from America’s independence, showcases musket firing demonstrations, performs songs on fifes and drums, and takes photos with guests while dressed in period costumes.

Annual Holiday Parade With Bike or Wagon

On Sunday, July 4, guests will be invited to take part in the resort’s annual holiday parade. A favorite resort tradition, guests can select a wagon or bike to decorate with bows, ribbons, glitter and more. Later that evening, they will show off their decorated “float” as they are led through the parade route by The Order of Granaderos y Damas de Galvez Fife and Drum Corps. Following the parade, the resort will feature its annual fireworks display that guests can enjoy from the golf course.

Additionally, golfers can take part in the July 4 tournament at Hill Country Golf Club. The two-person scramble is open to resort guests and local residents and begins with a shotgun start at 12 p.m. Entry fees are $69 and $49 for golf club members and include greens fee, cart rental, range balls, lunch, and prizes and awards. Players can register by calling (210) 520-4040 or by emailing ashley.skidmore@hyatt.com.

Throughout the holiday weekend, the resort has additional events and activities for all ages. Guests can start the day with outdoor yoga at the spa and end the day with s’mores by the fire and a family-friendly movie under the Texas stars. During the day swim and splash to the tunes from a poolside DJ and in the evening unwind to live music from local artists throughout the weekend. Cool off and keep the kids entertained at the resort’s award-winning water park. It features the 950-foot Ramblin’ River, a lazy river pool modeled after the nearby Guadalupe River to replicate an authentic Texas river float experience.

Surf’s Up on FlowRider

Guests can also test out their surfing skills with the FlowRider wave simulation machine, as well as a two-story water slide and four pools, including an adults-only pool. For the golf lovers, the resort’s on-site golf club also features a unique 27-hole golf course with four sets of tee placements for golfers of every level.
