Arlington PD Seeks Public’s Help In Stabbing of Roberto Lopez

UPDATE: Family and friends are offering a $2500 reward for information leading to an arrest and successful prosecution in this case.

Witnesses reported seeing Mr. Lopez with another individual prior to the stabbing. This person of interest was spotted on surveillance video at a nearby motel. Detectives would like to speak to him.

On Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at approximately 1:11 a.m., officers responded to a convenience store in the 3300 block of E. Division Street after an employee reported that a man who was bleeding entered the store. The man was identified as Mr. Roberto Lopez. Mr. Lopez was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Investigators believe that he had been stabbed multiple times. While it is unknown exactly where the stabbing occurred, witnesses reported seeing the man pull up to the convenience store location in a vehicle.

Roberto frequented the Moon Saloon on Great Southwest Pkwy. and was described as a friendly and happy individual who was quick to make friends. The owner of the Moon Saloon as well as a customer have offered a combined reward of $2,000 for information leading to the identification and arrest of the suspect in this case. Friends and family want answers as to why and how anyone could hurt such a kind and friendly individual. He’s been described as always smiling, a prankster and someone that was always making others laugh.
