Contribution will help local food bank reach more recipients and support upcoming holiday meal efforts

DESOTO, TX, July 22, 2021 — The AT&T Foundation has contributed $10,000 to the DeSoto Food Bank, an organization committed to supporting the local DeSoto community. The contribution will allow the food bank to reach more local recipients and support their 2021 holiday meal efforts, especially around the food-centered Thanksgiving holiday.

The non-profit food pantry serves 400 food-insecure families in the local community each month.

“The leaders at the DeSoto Food Pantry saw a need in our community and came together to provide sensible solutions and support for DeSoto residents,” said Ty Bledsoe, Assistant Vice President, AT&T Texas. “We are honored to support their work and grateful for their commitment to helping our local families in need, and especially as they plan for the food-centered holidays in 2021, such as Thanksgiving.”

Former DeSoto Mayor and current Texas State Rep. Carl Sherman, Sr. added, “I have always been proud of the DeSoto Food Pantry’s commitment to our community, and I know this contribution will have a substantial impact on their invaluable work. I appreciate AT&T’s support for this local organization, which will help feed more DeSoto families in need, especially during the Thanksgiving holiday.”
