NOTICE TO BIDDERS
SKYLINE DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT
Sealed bids will be received in the office of the Director of Public Works of the City of Hutchins, 321 N. Main Street, Hutchins, Texas 75141 until 2:00pm July 13 th, 2022, then publicly opened and read aloud for furnishing all necessary materials, machinery, equipment, superintendence and labor for the City of Hutchins Skyline Drive reconstruction project. The project includes the replacement of approximately 137,755SF of roadway pavement. The successful bidder must furnish performance bond, payment bond and maintenance bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price from a surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as Surety.
All lump sum and unit prices must be stated in both script and figures on the forms provided.
The City of Hutchins reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. In case of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating prices in the bids, the City of Hutchins reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof or reject the bid. Unreasonable (or “unbalanced”) unit prices will authorize the City of Hutchins to reject any bid.
A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting for the project will be held at the Hutchins City Hall located at 321 N. Main Street, Hutchins, TX on Monday July 13th, 2022, at 2:00pm. Bidders are expected to inspect the site of work and to inform themselves regarding all local conditions.
Bidders are required to submit a cashiers or certified check issued by a bank satisfactory to the City of Hutchins, or a bid bond (with proper power of attorney) from a surety licensed to do business in the State of Texas, payable without recourse to the City of Hutchins, in an amount ot less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the proposal submitted to insure that the successful bidder will enter into a contract and execute all necessary within ten (10) days after notice of the award of the contract to them. This bid security must be included in the bid envelope for the bidder to be considered responsive.
Specifications can be found on page 16 of the invitation to bid packet at www.cityofhutchins.org. Plans purchased from plan rooms or third-party websites shall be at the bidders sole risk. No guarantee of receipt of agenda, as clarifications will be made for thirdparty downloads.
