Midlothian ISD Introduces Dr. Fey As Lone Finalist, 21 Day Waiting Period Begins
The Midlothian Independent School District unanimously named Dr. JoAnn Fey as the Superintendent of Schools Lone Finalist during a special meeting today. With this announcement, this begins the 21-day waiting period that is required by state law before a Superintendent can sign a contract and begin working.
“Our Board of Trustees worked collaboratively these past few months to find the best candidate to serve our community’s children today and for years to come,” Matt Sanders, Board President, said. “Dr. JoAnn Fey is the right leader to serve MISD. She has an incredible depth, breadth of knowledge and experience ranging from teacher and coach, principal, leadership development as well as curriculum and instruction.”
“I am so excited to take on this role and inspire excellence for our students and community,” Dr. JoAnn Fey said. “When we make decisions that are purposeful and what is best for every student in our district, we grow our students into the great leaders for our city, state and country. I believe our district will lead the nation in and out of the classroom. Together, we are Midlothian Strong.”
