NOTICE OF CITIZEN COMMENTARY PERIOD AND PUBLIC HEARING
The City of DeSoto is designated as an Entitlement City and participates in the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Grant (CDBG) Program. As a participant in the CDBG Program, the City of DeSoto is required to prepare and submit an Annual Action Plan for the use of CDBG funds.
CITIZEN COMMENTARY PERIOD
The City of DeSoto will host a CITIZEN COMMENTARY PERIOD, to invite citizen comments and suggestions regarding the draft 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan for the CDBG Program. Citizens will have 30 days to review the draft document and submit comments. The CITIZEN COMMENTARY PERIOD will be held between July 14, 2016 and August 15, 2016. During this CITIZEN COMMENTARY PERIOD, the draft 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan will be made available in electronic form via the City website (www.desototexas.gov) and will be made available in paper form in the DeSoto City Hall Atrium, located at 211 East Pleasant Run Road in DeSoto, Texas.
Citizen comments about the 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan may be submitted by mail (Office of Administration, City of DeSoto, located at 211 East Pleasant Run Road, DeSoto, Texas 75115), by email (email@example.com), by fax (972-230-5793), or by phone message (972-230-9694).
The City of DeSoto will host a PUBLIC HEARING during the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, at the Jim Baugh Government Center (DeSoto City Hall), located at 211 East Pleasant Run Road, in DeSoto, Texas. This PUBLIC HEARING will be held to receive public comment regarding the housing and community development needs of the City of DeSoto. These comments will assist in the preparation of the 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan for the use of Community Development Block Grant funds from the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Immediately following the PUBLIC HEARING on August 16, 2016, the City Council will consider approval of the 2016-2017 Annual Action Plan.
