Focus Daily News is the official paper of record for DeSoto, Duncanville, Cedar Hill, Lancaster, Hutchins and Glenn Heights, and Midlothian, Texas. The newspaper is dedicated to the southern suburbs of the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex. It publishes a combination of local news, state news, national news and opinions. Focus Daily also covers high school football, local school news, community events, obituaries and legal notices affecting residents.

Publisher: Marlon Hanson

Marlon Hanson is a graduate of Pace University with a B.A. in Economics. He graduated from Adelphi University with an M.B.A. in Business and Economics.

Mr. Hanson has been in the media since 1970, beginning with the New York Daily News. He was brought to Dallas in 1981 to manage advertising and circulation administration for the Dallas Times Herald. In 1985, he was appointed to direct all community newspaper operations for the Community Close-up eleven editions of the newspaper. When the newspaper was sold in 1988, he founded Focus Newspapers, expanding the paper from weekly to daily over the past 28 years.

He has covered the automotive industry since 1995 and is a three-term president of the Texas Auto Writers Association. He is the current President and Chief Operating officer of the Texas Automotive Media Association.

Besides Focus Daily News, Hanson is a judge for the Consumers Digest Best Buys. automotive articles appear in Consumers Digest Magazine, Focus Daily News and various other websites and magazines.

 

Editor/Vice President: Kristin Barclay

Kristin Barclay graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of South Carolina with a major in Journalism and Advertising. Her professional career spans more than 10 years with management experience including handling accounts for Philip Morris, Miller Lite, American Express, Verizon, and Bank of America. Prior to joining Daily News she was a popular on-air personality on the Houston radio program In Wheel Time. You can find an account of her travel adventures and more on In Deep H2O.

She is widely recognized as one of the top digital and media influencers in the country being most recently recognized as one of the Top Three social media influencers in Houston.

She now handles all digital media aspects at Focus Daily News.

Weatherman: Kevin Crouch

Kevin has a passion for weather and keeping locals informed of the weather. He founded Ellis County Weather, now known as South Metro Weather to keep Dallas area residents up to date on severe weather with live broadcasts and forecasts. Kevin lives near Waxahachie with his wife Terri, and his two sons.
